Allison has worked extensively with couples in the areas of parenting, sexuality, conflict, communication, infidelity and trauma. She also has extensive experience and is highly regarded in the area of adolescent counselling
Allison brings warmth, positivity and kindness to her therapy sessions. She is known for her practical approach and honest feedback to clients. She builds strong, trust-based relationships with clients and has helped many families, couples, individuals and children find their way to a happier, more confident relationship with their lives.
She has more than a decade of experience working in private practice, and as a therapist and counsellor for commercial, corporate and education organisations. Allison can help you learn the new skills needed to improve your key relationships and overcome even complicated or long-term issues.
Many people relate and connect immediately to Allison because she is not only direct and insightful but also has a great sense of humour. And clients say they can sense her integrity and care she feels for them.
“I believe it can be really useful to talk to someone who is not part of your family or friendship groups when you are struggling. We all gain from feeling safe, respected and listened to by someone who does not judge, and who is focussed on supporting you through a difficult time or helping you find what you need to feel more fulfilled.
If you are unhappy, don’t go without help for too long. It will just make things harder. Find a therapist and an approach you feel good about – and start!”
Allison draws on Gottman, Systemic, Narrative and many other modalities when she works with clients.
She has volunteered and mentored with Raise, Youth Mentoring Foundation, Abbotsleigh and Knox Schools’ Program for Children with Disabilities.
